Your Intex carpet maintenance plan will include specifically-targeted recommendations for types, quality, and frequency of fill-in carpet care by your janitorial staff. We can also provide training for them and monitor their work, to help ensure that all parts of your carpet care team are pulling together for maximum benefits.
Here are some basic recommendations for your staff:
Spot Cleaning — Spots and stains have the worst impact on your carpet's appearance level. Handle spotting on a daily basis. Use a non-residue spotter with a pH no higher than 8.5—like EcoTex G.
Vacuuming — This is the single most important maintenance procedure for your carpet and needs to be performed daily. Less frequent, improper, or ineffective vacuuming can leave your company facing premature carpet replacement. Use a good quality, two-motor, beater-bar type vacuum with HEPA filtration on a daily basis to remove grit and dirt. Back-pack vacuums are not recommended for proper vacuuming. Carpeted areas next to hard surfaces need 8 to 10 passes of the vacuum to properly remove soil.
Pile Lifting — This is the necessary intermediate step in returning cut pile to its original position and removing grit and dirt. Replace vacuuming with pile lifting once per week in all high-traffic areas (and once per month in moderate-traffic areas).
Walk-Off Mats — Mats are crucial in effective soil management, collecting soil before it is tracked onto the carpet. Place mats at transition points from hard surfaces to carpet. Change or clean them regularly to remain effective.
Elevator Cleaning — Clean elevators weekly.
